Highlights...Summer Palace

As I stated earlier, we went to the Summer Palace today. It was really a beautiful place and we had another beautiful blue-sky day. We also took a boat ride across the lake and met some very nice people. Many people are very curious about us and it is handy having our guide tell us what they are saying about us as we pass them. One couple actually asked each other if Eliana was Chinese! Funny! To most, it's more a question of how we came about getting her, or where exactly she is from. Most are very curious and are polite toward us.

The biggest excitement of the day was April biting the dust again. Yep...right in the Summer Palace as she tried to do what everyone else was doing (walking down a little stone ramp that was on the side of the stairs). I did it on one, and others did it on others... April chose the one that was more like dusty marble and forgot how to ski as she quickly lost her feet from under her. She did a half-twist, quarter-pike flip with a small barrel roll at the bottom before hitting the garbage can. I would post the video again, but she had the camera in HER hand at the time. She has a couple of bruises, and was quite embarrassed as she drew crowds again. (she gave me permission to post this though...)

We also had a lady with an 18-month old boy talk to us and she had her son give Eliana one of his crackers. It was very cute and we got a good picture of all of us. Notice how her younger son is bigger than Eliana at 23-months...

We get to go to the Bird's Nest tomorrow. I don't think we'll get to go in, but it will be cool to see it up close.
