Well we are up later than we hoped we would be packing (and posting) the night before traveling home. It has a been a very long and busy two weeks. We really thought being in GZ the whole time would have made a calmer trip, but it really didn't. We had lots of stuff going on all the time with only two (partial) rest days. At least we didn't have many full-day outing like we did in Beijing last year. Eliana and Willow are having more and more cute "sister" moments, but Eliana is really struggling with not having any routine in her life, and not knowing what's going to happen next (even though we are trying to explain to her what is "next", it is still not registering enough to always get her through).
We got some cute Red Couch pictures this morning (second attempt) and had a great last meal with our new friends in our group last night. At first, we thought it would be easier to just travel by ourselves like last time, but we have two other families in our group that we grew very close with over the last two weeks. Now, it is very hard to see them go and we will miss them and sharing our experiences. They both live on the other side of the U.S. from us, so it will be a long time before we can see them again. :-(
We are nervous about our schedule to travel home tomorrow. We need prayers for traveling mercy! Pray that Eliana and Willow sleep at least 10 hours during travel. Below is a little itinerary for tomorrow:
8am: checkout (4pm Friday in Seattle)
8:30: meet guide to go to airport
11am: take-off to head to Hong Kong
land sometime, and have a 4.5 hour layover
5pm catch next flight to Taipei, Taiwan
land sometime and have another 4.5 hour layover
11pm: takeoff from Taipei to Seattle
5:25pm Saturday in Seattle we land (22 hours after GZ takeoff)
After customs, immigration and baggage, drive 2 hours home...
Oy!
Thank you all for your prayers and loving support.
We couldn't have done it without you!
